BRIndex100 lost another 20.55 points or 0.62 percent to close at 3,269.87 points. BRIndex100 touched intraday high of 3,291.09 and intraday low of 3,253.12 points. Volumes stood at 114.265 million shares.
BRIndex30 decreased by 120.33 points or 0.71 percent to close at 16,847.26 points with a turnover of 80.901 million shares.
The KSE-100 Index declined by 131.32 points or 0.42 percent to close at 31,433.89 level. Daily trading volumes increased to 124.475 million shares as compared to 104.764 million shares traded Wednesday.
The market capitalization declined by Rs 7 billion to Rs 6.314 trillion. Out of total 359 active scrips, 186 closed in negative, 146 in positive while the value of 27 stocks remained unchanged.
K-Electric was the volume leader with 31.426 million shares. It gained Re 0.21 to close at Rs 3.52 followed by WorldCall Telecom that closed at Rs 1.11, up Re 0.03 with 11.864 million shares. Siemens Pak and ICI Pakistan were the top gainers with Rs 25.00 and Rs 16.30, respectively to close at Rs 650.00 and Rs 482.19. Colgate Palmolive and Wyeth Pak were the top losers with Rs 63.51 and Rs 32.75, respectively to close at Rs 1,985.49 and Rs 627.25.
BR Automobile Assembler Index lost 8.36 points or 0.17 percent to close at 4,777.46 points with total turnover of 641,880 shares.
BR Cement Index closed at 2,590.37 points, down 2.41 points or 0.09 percent with 17.397 million shares.
BR Commercial Banks Index declined by 44.85 points or 0.6 percent to close at 7,398.58 points with 7.836 million shares.
BR Power Generation and Distribution Index decreased by 34.27 points of 0.79 percent to close at 4,311.99 points with 34.541 million shares.
BR Oil and Gas Index fell by 8.88 points or 0.25 percent to close at 3,579.21 points with 11.834 million shares.
BR Tech. & Comm. Index gained 2.59 points or 0.39 percent to close at 659.03 points with 14.934 million shares.
Maaz Mulla at JS Global Capital said another bleak session was witnessed at the local bourse as the KSE-100 Index made an intraday low of negative 293 points, finally closing at 31,434 level, down 131 points.
Mixed sentiment were witnessed in the cement sector, where DGKC (up 2.4 percent), MLCF (up 4.4 percent), PIOC (up 1.5 percent) closed in the green region whereas LUCK (down 0.7 percent) and FCCL (down 0.1 percent) closed red.
Selling pressure was witnessed in the banking space where BAFL (down 2.6 percent), HBL (down 2.5 percent), MEBL (down 1.0 percent) and UBL (down 0.3 percent) inched lower to close in the red territory.
